Voice Recognition Transcription Software will make many of our Jobs Easier

Many people alive today can still remember a time when the world was moving from the typewriter to the word processor. At that time it may have been difficult to imagine that in our lifetimes there would be voice recognition transcription software that would allow for the conversion of an audio file into text. The day has arrived, and the software promises to be something that changes jobs, creates jobs and improves the quality of life for many people.

Consider the wide varieties of possible uses for voice recognition transcription software; from the student that is creating an essay for school, to the person writing a novel, for teachers developing lesson plans or for medical transcriptionists who take the spoken word of medical professionals and convert it to text-based patient files.

Like so many other technological advancements, these software continues to be improved. If the user of this software takes the time to correct the software to account for certain pronunciation or accents then the software’s ability to transcribe speech improves. As you can imagine, the software will never be perfect in transcribing human speech for number of reasons. First of all, there are a number of similar sounding words and homonyms in our language and the software would not be able to determine in every circumstance what the speaker intends.
